The morning after pill
The morning after pill helps you prevent becoming pregnant if you didn’t used contraceptions. The morning pill needs to be taken within 48 hours after unprotected sexual intercourse.
This pills were the first authorised contraceptive for sale in Canada. One single dose (2 pills) contains 0.75mg Levonorgestrel (this is the ingredient used in birth control pill).
If you take plan B within 72 hours intercourse you can actually prevent pregnancy. But of course it’s not 100 percent effective.
Plan B One-Step is the only morning-after pills that have Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval in the U.S. (Plan B, which consists of two pills, is being phased out by its manufacturer.) However, many other brands of morning-after pills are available around the world.Plan B it’s not an abortion pill.
Don’t take more than 2 morning pills unless recommended by a healthcare professional. Taking more doses will not make it more effective.
